I just heard that Larry Norman passed away yesterday morning at his home in Salem, Oregon of heart failure. He was 60 years old.
I wrote about Larry a little over a year ago, after I saw him in concert (where the photo was taken). He was very appreciative of the review, and posted a nice comment. Rather than blather any more now, I’ll just send you back to that earlier post.

That is sad news. His music was a big part of my youth.
[…] Larry Norman died last week. He was very much a Christian rocker, one who accepted the scorn of others of his faith who thought that rock music had no place in Christianity. He wrote a fantastic essay on the subject for his liner notes to his album Streams of White Light Into Darkened Corners. He makes the point that for his faith, he can’t accept that rock music is inherently evil. He was also very careful to ensure that the music he wrote and produced was interesting musically and well-crafted. I am sorry that he died, as when I was young and Christian, his music provided an escape from the other dreck in the Christian Rock genre. (There were some other exceptions.) […]
I had not heard Larry passed. Man, that’s sad. His music spoke to me more than most, and I adored his early albums…wow….
